Toyota has launched the facelifted Etios sedan in a price range of Rs 5.74 lakh to Rs 8.16 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol variants will range from Rs 5,74,081 and Rs 7,06,567, while the diesel models will be priced in the range of Rs 6,84,081 and Rs 8,16,567. The car gets some cosmetic changes and additional safety features across all trims.
The sedan was recently spied after which the pictures surfaced on the web. The revised car will be available in a new premium pearl white colour and it also gets a revised front grille. The fascia is in line with Toyota's new design language which was first seen on the new Corolla. The vehicle gets a new 12-spoke design for the alloys. It also gets electrically adjustable mirrors.
Coming to the changes in the cabin, the Japanese carmaker has focused on safety and equipped all the models with driver and passenger SRS airbags. The car gets reverse parking sensors and a buzzer warning for seatbelt, doors open and headlights on. The other changes include steering mounted audio controls, wood finish armrest, chrome door handles, new seat fabric with height adjustable seats for driver, combimeter with new LCD display and digital clock and a cooled glove box. The Etios now gets two new rear speakers in addition to the speakers in the front. The infotainment system is a 2-DIN audio player with Bluetooth, USB Aux –in and a remote.
There are no mechanical changes to the facelifted Etios sedan. The oil-burner sedan continues to be powered by the 1.4-litre diesel engine, while the petrol sedan is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol DOHC mill that was seen in the earlier model. In both these models the engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Toyota says that the refreshed Etios, with its premium look, is designed to provide a true sedan experience. We appreciate the company's efforts for introducing dual airbags across all its variants as a standardised safety measure. The revamped sedan is expected to help the company boost the car's sales further with the onset of this festive season. It will go up against the Tata Manza and the Mahindra Verito in the Indian market.
