Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) is taking the Etios Motor Racing to Sri Lanka for the 2012 Colombo Night Race. The 10 EMR cars and eight Indian drivers will join international racing-spec vehicles including the GT3, GT4, SL-GT and Formula McLaren 1300 for the second edition of CNR on December 14 and 15.
The eight Indian drivers going to Sri Lanka are Amey S. Rane, Mezaan Anees, Yayathi Varma, Binoy John Maddela, Keith D’Souza, Hisham K P, Akhil Rabindra and Abhinay Bikkani. They were selected on their performance in the second EMR Exhibition Race held at Gurgaon earlier this year. In addition to the eight drivers above, two Sri Lankan drivers will also drive EMR cars.
Commenting on EMR’s participation at the International racing event, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “EMR’s participation in Colombo Night Race will take Toyota’s racing to the next level as it will help us train our drivers and give them international exposure. We are very happy to introduce our young EMR drivers to a new format and take them overseas for the first time. Last year the Colombo Night Races was a success and we look forward to being a part the event this year.
