In an effort to boost sales this festive season, Toyota has introduced the Etios Cross X edition in selective markets in India. Currently, the new model is available only in Eastern and North Eastern regions like - West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya. Over the next couple of days, the Etios Cross X will be introduced in other states in a phased manner. The petrol version is priced at Rs 6.78 lakhs, while the diesel version is available Rs 8.22 lakhs (both ex-showroom, Kolkata).
The Etios Cross X Edition is available in an all-new Quartz brown colour option. To distinguish it from the regular version, the Etios Cross X Edition gets an all-black grille, new foglamp bezels and black roof rails. Moreover, it also gets body-coloured cladding along with an X-Edition badge on the C-Pillar. The car also gets chrome door handles and body coloured ORVMs. As for the interior, the special edition model gets new seat fabric and instrument panel with new carbon fibre finish. The car also gets a new 6.8-inch touchscreen audio system with reverse camera display.
Under the hood, the petrol version continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine that generates 79bhp of power and 104Nm of peak torque. The diesel version on the other hand gets a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine that generates 67bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. The petrol as well as diesel engine options come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox option and return ARAI claimed mileage of 17.71kmpl and 23.59kmpl respectively. As for safety, Toyota Etios Cross X Edition gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiter as standard.
