Toyota has launched the Etios Cross in India starting at Rs 5.76 lakh for the base petrol variant and upto Rs 7.40 lakh for the top-of-the line diesel variant. The pseudo crossover has been launched with three engine options and four variants.
The Etios Cross with plastic cladding all around, an aggressive grille, elongated headlamps with fog lamp inserts in the front bumper looks great. The car is very practical and gets roof rails that are non-cosmetic and can hold up to 50kgs of luggage. The rear gets a spoiler and new diamond cut alloy-wheels that add to the aggressive looks of the car. The body cladding carries the Etios Cross name which looks quite impressive.
The Etios Cross will get a choice of two petrol and one diesel engine. The base petrol variant G is powered by the 1.2-litre engine 79bhp and 104Nm and the top-end petrol model in V trim gets the 1.5-litre engine churning out 89bhp and 132Nm of torque. There are two diesel variants namely GD and VD, that will be powered by the 1.4-litre D-4D unit producing 67bhp and 170Nm of torque. A five-speed transmission will be common across the range and the car will be front-wheel driven.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr. Naomi Ishii, Managing Director, said, “The B car segment is one of the fastest growing segments in the industry. Segment growth comes along with fast changing customer requirements. Customers today want a vehicle with unique styling that will make a statement. The Etios Cross has been introduced to cater to these needs. We look forward to delighting our customers with the Etios Cross that comes with the globally renowned promise of Toyota’s QDR (Quality, Durability & Reliability) standards.
