Toyota has introduced a special edition of the D-Segment sedan, the Corolla Altis. Badged as the Corolla Altis LE, the trim in available in both petrol and diesel guise based on the G variants of the sedan.
The Japanese carmaker is in the habit of introducing limited edition variants from time to time, pushing sales and clearing inventory. These versions offer better deal to the customers for a minor premium over the standard model.
The Corolla Altis LE, at Rs 14.68 lakh, costs about Rs 10,000 more than the standard G trim. The car gets limited edition badging on the rear, along with special illuminated scuff plates and Toyota badged puddle lamps. Inside, there is a Smart link touch-screen infotainment system with hand gesture recognition, leather seats with badging and new faux wood trim.
The Altis LE is available with the choice of a 1.8-litre petrol mill producing 138bhp and 178Nm or the 1.4-litre diesel engine which develops 88bhp and 205Nm. The limited edition is only available with the six-speed manual transmission.
The prices of the new trim are available on the Toyota website and Gaadiwadi has managed to get a few snaps of the brochure. The diesel variant of the special edition Corolla Altis is priced at Rs 16 lakh.
