Japanese car manufacturer Toyota unveiled its much awaited mid-segment sedan the ‘Yaris’ at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo event in the country. Competing against the likes of the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, the company anticipates the Yaris to be a volume generating product. Moreover, the Yaris will come loaded with standard safety equipment in form of seven airbags, all four disc-breaks and automatic version even in base models.
The company also showcased one of its largest MPV, the Alphard at the ongoing Auto Expo motor show in India. The vehicle comes equipped with advanced luxury features over the Innova Crysta in India. If introduced, it will arrive via the CKD route and might be positioned over the Fortuner SUV. The eight-seat MPV borrows the petrol hybrid engine from the Camry hybrid which is expected to generate about 202bhp of power.
Toyota’s globally popular product, the Land Cruiser Prado has been unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo event in the country. the new model has been updated with refreshed exteriors and more equipment while retaining the legendary reliability of the old models. As for the exterior, the new models get LED headlamps and revised front and rear bumpers. Toyota has also added new chrome door window frames, puddle lamps on the wing mirrors, new design for the alloy wheels and a new number plate garnish. Under the hood the vehicle gets Toyota’s familiar D-4D diesel engine that generates 170bhp of power and 410Nm of torque. The four-cylinder motor is paired to a 5-speed automatic which sends power to all four wheels via a robust 4WD system.
