Volkswagen recently introduced a limited edition Ameo Pace starting at Rs 6.1 lakhs. Here are the top three things that differentiate it from the regular Ameo compact sedan.
1. 1.0-litre petrol engine
The Ameo's 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine is now replaced by a smaller BS-VI compliant 1.0-litre unit producing 75bhp and 95Nm of torque. The five-speed manual transmission is carried over and there are no changes to the diesel powertrain.
2. All black, no chrome
The special edition gets a new design for the alloy wheels and benefits from some updates in the form of black treatment. The black boot spoiler is a standard fitment and the OVRM housings are also in glossy black. There are no chrome elements in the bumper and the grille.
3. Cruise control
The Ameo Pace is based on the Comfortline trim. Apart from the standard features from the regular Comfortline Ameo, the Ameo Pace gets cruise control from the higher trim. However, it should be noted that it gets a standard audio system and misses out on the touch screen system. There is no reverse parking camera or rain sensing wipers, but dual airbags and ABS remain standard across the range.
