Back in September, we had revealed spy shots of the international bound car models. Loaded with fresh upgrades, the upcoming lot ranges from humble wagon’s to a full-fledged power beast. Here below are few details for the seven international bound test mules which were spotted testing in September.
GMC Sierra diesel
The GMC Sierra with a new diesel powertrain was spotted on test in Colorado. The pick-up truck will be introduced with a new diesel engine sometime in 2019. Although the exact capacity of this power-plant hasn’t been revealed, sources suggest that it could turn out to be a reworked version of the 2.8-litre four-cylinder motor seen in the Chevy Colorado. But there’s also talk about it getting the 3.0-litre inline six from the Navistar.
Karma Revero
The Karma Revero which was earlier popular as the Fisker Karma, was spotted near the company’s research and development facility in Costa Mesa, California. Based on what can be seen, the new model is expected to get heavy cladding on the front and the rear section. The prototype has a more rounded front fascia with edgier creases. While the LED head lamps have new internals, the picture also reveals restyled lower air dams. At the rear, the prototype shows-off the new circular LED tail lights and the revised lower bumper design. The Revero gets a plug-in hybrid powertrain that makes a total of 403bhp. The vehicle offers a combined range of 386kms, and it can travel 60km purely on electric power from its batteries. The Revero is capable of clocking 0-100kmph in an impressive 5.4 seconds from standstill.
Ford Focus
In efforts to stand strong against competition, Ford has been spotted testing the 2019 Ford Focus in the US. On a few occasions, the prototype of the vehicle was also spotted on test in Europe. Along with fresh design upgrades, the new model is also expected to get slightly wider and lower body design. Reports indicate that US-bound models might get a 1-litre, 3-cylinder engine which generates 140bhp, whereas in Europe, it might get a 1.5-litre engine that generates anything between 150bhp and 200bhp. The rumoured ST Focus on the other hand would get to use a heavily updated 2-litre EcoBoost capable of up to 280 horsepower.
Audi A7
The new Audi A7 is expected to carry forth the design elements from the flagship A8 sedan. Based on what could be seen, the new A7 will get sharp LED headlamps along with sharp-edged and hexagonal grille which is similar to the A8. The tail lights clusters are connected via a light strip running across the entire rear of the car. And in a typical A7 style, a small third brake light sits atop the rear window. As for the interior, changes are limited to all-digital instrument cluster, with the centre console which is dominated by large infotainment screens.
Opel Corsa F sedan
As seen in the on the 1939 Buick models, the upcoming Opel Corsa F sedan will get the traditional waterfall grille. Underpinned by the G2XX/Global Gamma platform, the Corsa F sedan and the 2018 Chevrolet /Buick Sail will be offered with three and four-cylinder power plants, in turbo petrol and diesel guises. Along with the Chinese market, GM might introduce the Corsa F sedan for south American markets as well.
Hyundai Veloster N
Hyundai Veloster N was once again spotted on test on September with lesser camouflage. The vehicle featured a cascading grille which features on the new i30 N. However, the front bumper and air vents are unique to the Veloster. The headlamps appear to be redesigned, though it’s hard to tell the difference under the heavy cladding. It is believed that the Veloster N might get the newly developed 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder which does duty in the new i30N. The power output could either be 250bhp or 275bhp. The six-speed manual transmission would send power to the front wheels only.
Hyundai i40 wagon
The Hyundai i40 Wagon prototype is likely to be last facelift for the current generation i40. The vehicle gets new grille, mildly refreshed bumpers and new internals for both the head lamps and tail lamps. The new model will also get some fresh looking alloys, new paint shades and upholstery covers and other add-on features. The facelifted i40 wagon is likely to be unveiled in the first half of 2018, and will soldier-on until the new i40 rolls into the market.
