Introduction
Tata Motors recently launched the Curvv EV in India, offering a new option to consider while buying an electric vehicle. Building on the success of entry-level EVs like the Tiago and Punch, the Curvv EV is positioned as a premium offering above the Nexon EV. With its larger size, distinctive styling, and additional features, the Curvv EV is an attractive upgrade for those considering the Nexon EV. So, if you're in the market for a new electric vehicle and have been considering the Nexon EV, here's a comparison to help you make an informed decision on whether or not you should upgrade to the Curvv EV.
New design
The Curvv's body style and road presence are fresh and make it look unique. The Nexon has a similar styling up front, but the Curvv's rear section adds to the flair.
Spacious and upmarket
Secondly, there is more space inside the Curvv, new upholstery, and a big 500 litre boot, which is more than the Nexon's 350 litre space.
Additional features
Then, the Curvv EV gets add-ons like a panoramic sunroof, electric boot-lid opener, and a modern and better-looking cabin. The Nexon is updated and modern as well, but the Curvv earns more brownie points here too.
Bigger powertrain
When it comes to the powertrain, there are quite a few improvements and innovations as mentioned by Tata Motors. Take the Curvv 45 EV for example that has similar power output as the Nexon EV (Curvv 45 148bhp and 215Nm torque, Nexon 141bhp and 215Nm torque). However, the battery is bigger and gives a higher driving range of 502km unlike the claimed 465km for the Nexon (489km in the new Nexon EV 45).
Worth the upgrade
Now, the Curvv EV matches the ride quality and comfort of the Nexon EV despite being a bigger and heavier car. And, one gets so much more in the Curvv EV than the Nexon EV. It wouldn't be a surprise to see prospective Nexon EV buyers upgrading to higher variants of the bigger sibling.
