Things look exciting this month for our roundup of the top India-bound cars that have been spotted doing the rounds in April. The luxury cars have been out in full force while Volkswagen’s top soldier for its 2020 India charge, the T-Cross, has been spotted with a little less camouflage than before, indicating that development for the compact crossover is moving ahead quite fast.
Next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLE rendering
The Mercedes-Benz GLE is starting to look a bit long in the tooth and a next generation car couldn’t come sooner. Our spy masters have rendered an image of what the next generation will look like based on a plethora of test mules that have been spotted. The image shows a two-slat grille and a bumper very similar to that of the one seen on the X-Class pickup truck.
2020 BMW 3 Series
The 7 and 5 Series have both entered new generation in the last two years and now it looks like its time for the third brother to get an update. This car, the 2020 3 Series, will look much like the 5 and 7 but with at least one major design element to give it it’s distinct identity. This car will move to the CLAR platform and will have expanded dimensions.
Audi A4 mid-life update
Test vehicles of the Audi A4 mid-life update have been spotted doing the rounds as the German car maker readies itself to refresh the sedan. The current generation of the Audi A4 was launched globally in 2015 and was the first major generation change for the car in a significant time. The car is expected to be revealed in early 2019.
Volkswagen T-Cross
The Volkswagen T-Cross has now reached an advanced stage of testing ahead of its production model debut later this year. In some of the photos, we can see a covering on the back seat of the car indicating that much of the interior design development is already complete. The car will lead VW’s India charge in 2020.
Skoda Superb facelift
The current generation Skoda Superb is up for its first minor facelift, and these early spy shots give us a glimpse of a re-designed front bumper. All the other details of the Czech’s big sedan appear to be similar so far. It is likely that Skoda is testing the hybrid powertrain under that hood. Expect this car to debut next year.
Porsche Macan facelift
A test mule of an updated Porsche Macan has been spotted near their test facility in northern Europe and judging by the visuals, it looks like the Macan will get a minimal cosmetic update along with added features. The car’s tail lamps have been covered up, indicating a new design. Also expect some changes to cabin as well.
BMW 7 Series autonomous test vehicle
The BMW 7 Series will undergo an LCI update sometime next year and it will bring with it something quite important- autonomous driving technology. This is already available in some form on the 7 Series and this test vehicle, we suspect, is a test bed for further levels of autonomous driving systems.
