Maruti Suzuki has launched the latest iteration of the Celerio at a starting price of Rs 4.15 lakhs. Let's take a look at the four most important changes on the 2017 Celerio that gets mild updates over the previous model.
1. Revamped front fascia
The Celerio now gets a new front end with a reworked mesh grille along with chrome bits. The front bumper gets new air vents and re-designed housing for fog lamps.
2. Tweaked rear bumper
The rear bumper too has been slightly tweaked. Nonetheless, the car still continues to maintain its contemporary look.
3. Refreshed interior
Speaking of changes inside the cabin, there are only a handful of them. For starters, the dashboard now gets a black and beige treatment. Then, to further spice up the interior space, the hatchback gets new upholstery with an abstract pattern.
4. Additional safety features
The newly introduced Celerio gets a driver-side airbag as standard across all models. Additionally, there's also a seat-belt reminder. Furthermore, the carmaker is offering passenger airbags and ABS as an option on all variants.
Otherwise, the Celerio continues to get power from a 998cc K10 petrol engine. This mill produces 67bhp and 90Nm and comes mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or an AGS unit as an option. It was the first car to offer auto gear shift technology three years ago with its launch. And ever since then, Maruti Suzuki has sold over three lakh units, with the top-of-the-line Z model contributing over 48 per cent of the total Celerio sales.
