10 years ago, the powered driver seat was a forte of the premium segment. You had to look above the Rs. 50 lakh mark to even find a four-way adjustable seat. Much to our surprise, we found 18 cars with the ‘luxury’ feature.
What’s the point of a power driver seat? Apart from it being a bit of a brag feature, it allows you to get the seat to the exact position and height that you want. This is something that comes to the fore when you have to drive long distances.
Observations from the list
The first car on our list is one of the newest in the market. Yes, we are talking about the Tata Curvv, and in its range, you can have the powered driver seat from the Creative +S variant, which starts at Rs. 13.69 lakh.
In terms of sedans, you can have the Hyundai Verna in the SX (O) guise, the Volkswagen Virtus 1.0 Topline, and the Skoda Slavia Prestige 1.0-litre TSI. They are priced at Rs 14.17 lakh, Rs. 15.28 lakh and Rs. 15.99 lakh, respectively. The MG Windsor EV is one of the big players here with both its Exclusive and Essence variant offering a six-way powered driver seat. The variants are priced at Rs. 14.5 lakh and Rs. 15.5 lakh, respectively. Finally, the Kia Sonet offers the most diversity in terms of variants, with a four-way driver’s seat being offered from the HTX+ variant onwards.
