Although it will take a while before they are officially launched, spotting them on test keeps the interest alive among enthusiasts. To fuel curious minds, take a look at the test mules that have been spotted in recent past.
Buick Regal GS
Spotted on test outside the GM’s facility, the Buick Regal GS is expected to be launched internationally in 2019. The upcoming vehicle is a rebadged version of the Opel Insignia, which is also sold as Holden Commodore in the Outback. Reports indicate that the vehicle might be more performance focused and get an aggressive front fascia with a larger grille and side skirts. It is believed that the vehicle might be powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine mated to eight-speed transmission that generates 335bhp of power.
Seat Arona
Seat Arona, an upcoming crossover from the Spanish automaker had been spotted on test last month. The vehicle is believed to be an entry-level variant of the upcoming vehicle. Based on what can be seen, the headlamps and the tail lamp unit is similar to the Ateca. The vehicle might get a 1.5-litre TSI Evo and 1.0-litre petrol engine options, while diesel might get a 1.6-litre TDI engine in different state of tunes.
Peugeot Partner
Peugeot Partner van had been spotted undergoing road test in Europe. The vehicle also christened as the Berlingo will be sold with a Citroen badge in several markets. The current Peugeot Partner was first introduced nine years ago and has been due for an update ever since. The new model has been redesigned to offer more space and a modern design appeal. Reports indicate that both these cars might be unveiled by the end of this year, as a 2018 model.
BMW X4 M-Sport
The new generation of the BMW X4 has been spotted on test, thereby indicating on its possible launch sometime soon. The M car might get a 500bhp version of the M3/M4 twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six. Reports indicate that there might also be an X4 M40i featuring the new B58 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six. While the M-Sport pack will come as a standard for the X4 M40i, it will be available as an option for less potent variants.
Ford Focus
The current generation Ford Focus has been on sale for around seven years now. This time around, the one spotted on test will be the new gen Focus that is expected to debut as 2019 model. European market might get a 1.5-litre engine that generates power anywhere between 150bhp to 200bhp. As for US market, Ford might offer 1-litre, 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine that generates close to 140bhp of power.
Ford Escape
The 2019 Ford Escape has been spotted on test in Michigan, US. Along with new feature and design upgrades, the vehicle will also get a hybrid powertrain. Reports indicate that Ford will be offering a slew of four-cylinder petrol engines that also includes two EcoBoost engines. Moreover, it will also be offered in four-wheel-drive trims.
