After a long wait and anticipation, Mahindra has finally launched the all-new Alturas G4 in India with much fanfare. The new flagship SUV from Mahindra's stable looks muscular, has a fairly capable powertrain, and it is feature loaded as well. The Alturas also comes with many class-leading equipment. Let us have a detailed look at the inside of the new Toyota Fortuner rival.
1. Quilted Nappa Leather:
The interior of the new Mahindra is a reminder of older Mercedes-Benz. The cabin features tan-black/black-grey quilted Nappa leather upholstery on the seats and also on the dashboard. There are soft-touch plastics seen all around with gloss finish material adding a premium feel to the SUV.
2. Electric and Ventilated Driver's seats with memory function:
The Alturas’ seats get electric driver’s seat with eight-way adjustment. It also gets memory function. Meanwhile the front passenger along with driver get cooled seats as well. The Alturas G4's seat won Ergonomic Design Award 2017 in Korea.
3. 360-degree camera with 3D function:
There are four cameras mounted on the front, rear and ORVMs providing a complete 360-degree view of the car. This function can be had in both 2D and 3D display on the infotainment system. It is helpful both while off-roading or city manoeuvres.
4. Eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system:
The centre console gets a sufficiently large 20.32cm (eight-inch) touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with all the connectivity features such as Bluetooth, AUX, USB, Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Even the instrument cluster get a seven-inch TFT LCD display with three-mode settings – regular, animation and RPM-linked modes.
5. Additional Comfort and convenience features:
The cabin also comes with dual-zone climate control along with automatic temperature control. The large steering wheel gets buttons for media and function control. Furthermore, the 4x4 variant also comes with sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps, auto headlamps, and ambient lighting.
6. Safety equipment:
Mahindra has added nine airbags to the Alturas 4x4 which is only matched by the Kodiaq in its segment. Apart from that, there are a host of driver aids in the Alturas which includes active rollover program (ARP), brake assist, traction control, EBD, ABS, hill start assist and descent control, emergency stop signal and electronic parking brake with auto hold function.
