The 2018 Honda CR-V has made its Indian debut at this year's Auto Expo and will soon be launched in the country. This is the fifth-generation of the CR-V that will replace the dated current version, will make it a better package and still retain the charm of the old one. How? Well, here are the top five features that are expected to entice the premium SUV buyer.
Diesel engine
The CR-V never got a diesel engine option in India, but now gets a new 1.6-litre diesel engine for the first time in the country. This turbocharged four-cylinder engine should impress the potential buyers who were looking for a diesel SUV for both, its fuel economy and power.
AWD
SUV owners would want to take their vehicle to places where their daily commuting vehicle might not be able to go. For such buyers, Honda will also be offering the CR-V with an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Hands-free tail gate
For the first time, a Honda car in India gets a hands-free electrically powered tailgate. The hatch opens or closes by activating a motion sensor by just waving a foot under the rear bumper.
Exterior styling
This model of the CR-V is based on a new platform and is fully redesigned. The styling elements give it a sharper look than its predecessor and an even more athletic presence.
Interior space and design
The CR-V gets a modern interior that is packed with premium features and the latest tech. The biggest addition to the CR-V, however, are the extra pair of seats in the third row. The CR-V in India was always a five-seater and the three-row seating option will add to the aspirations of an SUV buyer who was looking for a seven-seater vehicle.
