Toyota has revealed their GR HV Sports concept and looking at the two-door, you can’t get the Toyota 86 out of your head. Toyota has gone a bit too radical with the GR HV Sports concept and it is not only in the styling.
The cluster of LED’s put together in the Le-Mans inspired headlamps looks rather ghastly with the pointy nose from the front. Move on towards the profile, and you might feel it’s a different car altogether. The ragged edges flow into the Coupe-ish silhouette while the targa-top convertible design looks gorgeous. The black alloys wheels with the all-black paint on the show-car certainly grabbed eyeballs.
It looks like all the attention has gone to the GR HV’s back. The tail design is one of the busiest ones we have seen in the recent past with the splitter, the sculpted boot-lid and the tail lamps that peek out of the contours.
The HV Sports concept debuts the inclusion of a hybrid powertrain in the 86 series. While Toyota hasn’t divulged any details, the performance will certainly match the newer Hachi Roku (86 in Japanese). While we have all started coming to terms with electrification, good looks is what we cant let go at least in case of the new 86.
