Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept has managed to grab some eye balls at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show 2017. As the name suggests, the concept vehicle will be an all-electric cross-country tourer that will also deliver impressive performance figures like the Evo brand. Currently in the concept form, the company has not revealed anything about its range and power output figures. The battery is located under the floor in the middle of the vehicle and helps provide a low center of gravity.
Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept uses a single motor to power the front wheels, while the AWD mode uses a new Dual Motor Active Yaw Control (AYC) system that couples two rear motors through an electronically controlled torque-vectoring AYC unit. The black grille is covered by glass which has cameras and sensors underneath them. The electric brake calipers are cooled by massive air intakes which are located below the headlamps. Additionally, the company claims that the drawn-in air passes jet tailfins on the C-pillars before exiting on either side of the rear bumper. Overall, the Mitsubishi e-Evolution gets an aggressive arrow styled aerodynamic design that is pretty much unique to this concept vehicle.
Although the interior details are unavailable for now. The vehicle will get premium leather upholstery along with a large infotainment display. The on board computer will read out all the vital information relating to the trip and the driver. Furthermore, the company claims that the concept utilizes an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system that augments the driver’s capabilities. Sensors allow the AI system to read changes in road and traffic conditions, as well as the driver’s intent.
