According to a report from FlyWheel, who say they have got their information from company sources, the production of the cars have already begun and will reach dealerships by the end of the month. However, they will only be delivered to customers in January.
The Hyundai Grand i10 diesel with an AT box is likely to be offered in three variants Sportz, Asta and Asta optional. The engine is a 1.1-litre diesel engine that produces 70bhp and 160Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a four-speed AT box. This is the same gearbox that is used in AT variants of all Hyundai cars under Rs 12 lakh.
The launch of the Grandi10 diesel AT is expected to give Hyundai a massive advantage as it will have no rivals in this regard and is not expected to have any for quite a while. It is expected to be priced Rs one lakh more than the equivalent petrol AT variant. Its launch will also mean that Hyundai may soon launch an AT diesel version of the i20 also.
