• Audi Q3 is now on sale in the Indian market as bookings have started yesterday for the first lot of 500 cars. priced aggressively at Rs 26.2 lakh, the Q3 is an excellent option for those who are unable to make up their minds to buy the A4 Quattro. The 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine delivers 177BHP and has already proven its capability and economy.
• Maruti has almost stopped production of its petrol cars as the stocks keep stacking due to the shrinking demand for petrol cars.
• Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga has been a runaway hit for the Indian manufacturer. The diesel top model ZDi has been the most sought after variant and the waiting period for the Ertiga has reached 9 months.
• Mahindra XUV500 bookings are opening tomorrow as Mahindra has braced itself to deliver to the market demand by ramping up its proiduction capacity to 4000 units a month.
• Mahindra and Mahindra are facing a fraud, misrepresentation and conspiracy lawsuit filed by a bunch of its US dealers on June 4. The law firm representing the dealers has accused M&M of graft where the company is said to be sitting upon the about $9 million dealer fees it collected in 2008 with the promise of delivering cars to the US markets within an year and then wilfuly delaying the certifications for the cars.
• M&M say that the proposed increase in taxation on diesel vehicles will affect the automotive industry's investments. M&M's product portfolio is primarily diesel.
• Tata Motors has started operations at its Dharwad plant where light commercial vehicles - Tata Iris and Ace Zip - will be made. 
• MINI has inaugurated its first delaership at Delhi in India. MINI fans in India will soon be able to have a look at the iconic cars at the nearby metros.
• Volkswagen will launch petrol version of the Jetta sedan housing the 1.4 litre TSi petrol engine and developing 122PS and better fuel economy.
• Lamborghini Aventador production has slowed down due to a series of low intensity earthquakes at its Sant'Agata factory in Italy. So, if you have booked one, be ready to wait for some more time, but we expect Lamborghini to shift to the fast lane soon.
• The new Audi A3 has been launched for Rs. 16 lakh (before taxation) in the UK markets, slightly below the A4. The A3 sedan that is supposed to come to India in near future would certaily be at par with the international pricing system.
• BMW is filing a patent for a 7 speed manual gearbox. The patent has two variants - one with the traditional clutch pedal and the other with the shift by wire system where the clutch is controlled by an electromechanical actuator. We wonder what it could do to the 'M' cars.
• Volkswagen has upped its shareholding in MAN - the commercial vehicle giant - to 75 per cent. This would allow Volkswagen to gain complete control over the company. Volkswagen is one of the leading players in teh international comemrcial vehicle market.
• Remember the electric supercar Tesla? The first production Tesla was delivered to its company board member Steve Juvertsen.
