• Petrol prices were slashed by Rs 2 on Saturday as expected when the price was hiked by Rs 7.5 in May. The ruling government allies and oppposition want full roll back of the price hike.
• Audi Q3 has already made its debut in Brazil. The Indian launch of the mini crossover from Audi is expected to unfold within a month.
• Chevrolet's MPV Enjoy was spotted testing with minimal cladding near Pune, India. The 5-door 7-seater MPV will be positioned with the Ertiga and will run on the 1.4 litre 98PS petrol engine and the 1.3 litre 90PS disel multijet engine. To be launched in the sub 10 lakh price bracket, the interiors are simple and functional.
• British marque Aston Martin has revived the Vanquish badge for the AM310 concept to be put in to production. The DBS replacement is expected to debut at the Pebble Beach event.
• BMW is said to be planning to 'M' the 7-series to compete with the super luxury performance sedans like the Mercedes AMGs and Audi S models.
• Audi RS5 convertible will now be available in the US. The RS5 Cabriolet develops 450PS mated to a dual clutch transmission to deliver power through the famed Audi Quattro.
• Renault already owns three brands, the low cost Dacia, Renault and the performance brand Alpine. They are planning to launch a new brand 'Initiale Paris', a premium brand, and enter the premium car segment in international markets.
• Fiat is offering about 50 per cent discounts on petrol to customers buying Fiats, Lancias, Alfas and Jeeps. Yes, you read it right, the discount is on petrol for the next three years and not on the car. Fiat is readying this ouitrageous scheme to shift its petrol car sales on the fast track.
• Rolls-Royce organised the 'Dine on the Line' event for its select customers over the weekend where more than 100 invited Roller owners dined at a special banquet at the company's plant in Goodwood, England. These special customers were shown the new Phantom II series.
• Ferrari had built a 250 GTO for Sir Stirling Moss in 1962. The iconic car has now become the most expensive car to be auctioned at a staggering $35 million price tag. Though the British racing legend could never race in the car due to his mishap in 1962 itself, the car participated in the LeMans and has a proven racing pedigree.
