- Porsche has appointed three new dealers in Mumbai, Gurgaon and Chandigarh. These are now the only authorised dealers for the brand in India.
- Porsche's erstwhile importer, Precision Cars India, is taking the company to court over what it says is a breach of contract since the company has appointed new dealers that are directly under the company's management.

- A very rare 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K von Krieger Special Roadster will go under the hammer at Monterey and will certainly break the record for the price paid for a Mercedes-Benz. However, we'll have to wait and watch to see if it breaks the overall record of USD 16.39 million paid for a 1957 Ferrari 250 TR Prototype last year.
- The US has approached the WTO with allegations that China is unfairly levying taxes on US-produced cars being exported to China. The duties range from 2-21.5 per cent.

- The Pikes Peak hillclimb has been rescheduled for August 12. 21 of the top 31 drivers will be participating despite the change of date. Practice runs may begin as early as August 8.
- Volvo USA has been slapped with a fine of USD 1.5 million from the NHTSA for delaying safety recalls. The Indian government is developing a similar system; we're eager to see what the penalties will be if an automaker fails to issue a recall in time.
