- Renault launched the Duster in Mumbai for starting prices of Rs 7.47 lakh, while the top-of-the-line RxZ will cost Rs 11.46 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). At the launch event, Renault officials confirmed that the company received over 4,000 orders for the Duster before the launch.
- Fiat unveiled the 500L earlier this year with the hope increasing the sales of the iconic brand. The 500L is more practical 5-door version of the Fiat’s small car. The Italian car maker has now started accepting bookings for the 2013 Fiat 500L in the European market.
- It seems that the Fiat 500 is taking the same route that Mini took few years back. Apart from the 500L and the rumors of possible seven-seater; the company has now confirmed the 500X, which will be a compact crossover in the 500’s range. The concept is expected to be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
- Land Rover initiated a 50-day drive called the “Journey of Discovery” to celebrate the one millionth example of the Land Rover Discovery. As a part of the drive the Tata owned luxury brand also raised 1 million Pounds, which were donated to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Cross Crescent Societies (IFRC)’s for water and sanitation projects in Uganda.
- Honda Siel India registered sales growth of 157 per cent in the first fiscal of 2012 (April to June). Honda sold 20,076 units in India in the last three months, whereas sales were 7,801 units last year. The drastic difference is mainly because Honda supplies were severely crippled last year after tsunami in Japan damaged their facilities in last April.
- Hyundai has launched a new micro website yesterday, which will offer service facilities to all its customers in India. The first website of its kind in India will offer customers personalized services like service reminders, on-line service booking and other information.
- PSA Peugeot Citroen might cut up to 10,000 jobs as it tries to control operating costs. The company suffered over 10 per cent decline in sales last month and will cut jobs through voluntary retirement, reassignments and forced redundancies in the coming momths.
