Hyundai Sonata recalled in US
- Maruti Suzuki is considering sacking all the employees suspected to be involved in riots, at the Manesar factory on 18 July. Country’s largest car maker is trying every possible method to set things right at the facility and has now even contacted an astrologer from Bangalore to correct vaastu at the location.
- IndianAutosBlog has once again caught the test mules of Chevrolet Sail sedan and the MPV ‘Enjoy’. Both the cars were unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi and are expected to be launched in October, around the festive season.
- Premier has updated the spec sheet of the new BSIV complaint Rio diesel, on the website. The new version of the Rio will be powered by Fiat mutlijet engine used in the Swift and many other Tata and Maruti vehicles – this one though is slightly detuned for torque, to manage excess weight of the compact SUV. - Renault Duster has bagged over 10,000 orders in less than one month. The French car maker is now planning to ramp up the production at the Chennai facility to meet the demand. It may still wait for a while before implementing the move to check impact on demand, as the new Mahindra Xylo 5-seater will be launched latest by September.
- Honda has unveiled its new HR412E – a 1.6-litre turbocharged, direct injection petrol engine, which will power the race spec Civic in the World Touring Car Championship. In short term - it is not really relevant, but then components used for racing make it to production cars in long term, which means we might get to see even more efficient turbocharged Honda cars in future.
- Hyundai has announced a recall of 1,99,188 units of the Santa Fe crossover and 22,512 units of the Sonata in US, due to faulty airbags. The recall has been limited only to US for now, and we are waiting for more information from Hyundai to find out if it will be applicable in any other global market including India.
