- Petrol prices will be cut by 3.4 per cent, meaning a reduction of Rs 2.46 to 3.22 across the country.
- The 2013 Jaguar XF estate version has been launched in the UK. Features include a standard eight-speed automatic transmission with stop/start. The diesel engine now generates 163bhp or 200bhp.
- The 2013 Jaguar XJ has been announced as well, and the biggest change is the replacement of the 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine with a new 335bhp supercharged V6 that will also power the XJ and F-Type. Combined with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, that equates to a 14 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency over the V8 without any loss in performance.
- The Pikes Peak Hill Climb has been postponed indefinitely, not because of the fire hazard, but because the state's services are too tied up battling the blaze to be able to give the motorsport event enough attention. All tickets will be honoured at the new date, as will the agreements with sponsors. A new date may be selected over the next fortnight.
- Shelby American has released images of the 2013 Mustang GT350. Among the options are new exterior colours, a glass roof and Recaro seats. Only 350 examples will be made with the optional supercharger system, which ups power to either 525 or 624bhp.
- Ford is working on an automatic "do not disturb" element that will take assess the driver's biometric parameters and accordingly block calls and notifications on the phone if the driver needs to focus on traffic. It is nowhere near going on sale, though.
