The new Mercedes-Benz A Class
- GM has confirmed that the Sail sedan and hatchback will be launched this year – expect them to be launched in time for the Diwali festivities.
- In a unique move, Mercedes-Benz is throwing open the doors for questions online via www.mbconnect.in. Debashis Mitra, director – sales and marketing, will be available on June 29 at 4pm to answer any questions you might have about the three-pointed star.
- Mercedes has launched the A-Class in the UK market at a starting price of Rs 16.83 lakh. It gets five engine options, three petrols and two diesels, mated to either a six-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
- Rolls-Royce has appointed a new design director. Giles Taylor replaces Ian Cameron and will report to Adrian van Hooydonk from July 1.
- The last rotary engine has rolled off Mazda’s production line. The company has no plans to manufacture another rotary engine in the near future.
- The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb might be postponed or cancelled due to wildfires in the vicinity that have already burned more than 15000 acres. Highway 24 that leads up to the base of the mountain is currently closed. An announcement is expected within the next 48 hours.
- Bugatti may be looking at making a hybrid drivetrain for the next Veyron, or cutting weight. This is in the interest of getting better green credentials for the Veyron. The good news, however, is that there will be a Veyron on sale a few years down the line. Start saving!
