- Jaguar will unveil the new production version of the new E-type replacement two seater sports car, the F-Type, at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The car made debut with camouflage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June and now the F-TYPE will be launched as a convertible with a choice of three petrol engines: 340PS and 380PS versions of Jaguar’s all-new 3.0-litre supercharged V6, and a new derivative of its existing supercharged 5.0-litre V8. - Audi will soon launch the new R8 e-tron based on the track-only Audi R18. Just like the race car, production car does not have a rear window and will hence be fitted with a digital rearview mirror – a 7.7-inch screen connected to a small camera, which can be adjusted or turned off, as per driver’s requirement.
- Before the new 2013 Audi R8 goes on sale early next year, the company will be offering one last special edition of the current model, to bid a fitting adieu to the sportscar. - Anand Mahindra has taken over as the chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 8 August. Back in May, Mr Kesub Mahindra had announced his intentions of stepping down from the position and eventually retiring from the Board of Directors. The 88-year old, who would continue to be chairman emeritus of the Mahindra group, said, "By now, all of you know that after having enjoyed the privilege of serving as a Director of your company for 64 years, and the honour of being Chairman of the Board for 48 years, I have decided to hand over the baton to the younger generation."
