If the 503 bhp twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 powered C63 S hitting the 100kmph mark from standstill in four seconds is too mainstream or slow. And if you have a bag full of cash that you need to empty right away, you have the Brabus 650 – a tuned Mercedes-AMG C63 S. With 641bhp of power and 819Nm or torque, it does the 100kmph dash in just 3.7 seconds and is electronically limited to 322kmph.
Well, knowing Brabus, it doesn’t really come as a surprise. Known for blowing the already insane Mercs into lunacy, the German tuner house packs them with luxury too. The extra power is drawn from new bigger turbochargers, reworked intakes and exhausts and a new ECM to manage the extra boost. The car is rear-wheel-drive and the power is fed through a dual clutch automatic transmission that gets paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
Brabus has worked on the aerodynamics, brakes, suspension and a lot of bits and pieces to allow this car to unleash its potential. A revised front bumper with lower lip spoilers and a rear diffuser provide better downforce. The 10-way adjustable suspension will let you derive the perfect setup for a weekend track day and also might save your vertebrae from shattering on regular roads.
Brabus is also known for its attention to detail and the luxurious cabin with two-tone leather upholstery is a manifestation of the same. The illuminated door sills scream Brabus in red reminding you of the manic machine you are getting in to. Brabus has not put a number on the price tag yet. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S costs Rs 1.3 crore in India which means the Brabus 650 - if you plan to import one right away - will go well beyond two crores.
