Tesla Motors has updated its range with new standard features at no extra cost. Both Model S and Model X get a new air suspension as standard, while the 75kWh variants received an over-the-air software update.
The American electric carmaker claims that the new software update now brings down the 0-100kmph time by one second. Although Tesla hasn’t given out the actual numbers, it is presumed that the 75kWh cars could now accelerate to a tonne in 4.2 seconds as compared the 5.2 seconds clocked earlier. With this update, Tesla’s futuristic ‘Smart Air Suspension’ now provides better handling, efficiency and ride comfort. Apart from that, the smart suspension can automatically adjust the height of the vehicle according to various conditions. For example, the ride height will be automatically reduced on motorways in order to provide better aerodynamic efficiency at higher speeds.
The Model X SUV is now available with a new seven-seat configuration. The second and third-row seats can be folded flat for maximum cargo space. Tesla is also offering a new ‘cream colour’ interior across the range. Other minor updates include ‘automatic high beams’ as a standard feature in all cars. This feature was previously only available in limited vehicles.
