Just a few days ago, Tesla discovered an issue with the front passenger-side airbag module. And now, the company is ready with the fix and will push this fix to the affected cars via over-the-air (OTA) update.
The American electric manufacturer claims that no customer had problems with this issue. This issue was detected during a routine check. The fix for this issue is ready and the company would push this via over-the-air (OTA) route. This could be the first time a manufacturer has deployed a fix for a recall over the air. The current traditional way to fix a car which is part of a recall is by getting the affected car to the dealership and getting it fixed through the technicians.
Currently, there are not details on how much Model X’s have been affected by this airbag module issue. Plus it is difficult to get that figure as the company doesn’t reveal its sales numbers. Tesla owners will receive an email detailing what they need to do, but the over-the-air update is automatically installed; drivers need only download the update. Till this issue is fixed, Tesla has advised its customers to avoid the front passenger seat.
