- Tesla Roadster targets 0-100kmph in 1.9s
- To arrive in 2020 after the Model Y SUV
It is often seen that a tweet from Elon Musk sends everyone in frenzy and this time, it isn’t any different. Elon Musk has tweeted about the possibility of rocket thrusters for extra boost for the Roadster and knowing what he is capable of, it might turn out to be a reality.
According to Elon, ten rocket thrusters will be arranged seamlessly around the car. The rocket engines will obviously help the car accelerate faster and reach higher top speed. Also, these thrusters can also be used to assist braking and cornering. This will take active driving assist to the next level, even surpassing Zenvo’s gyrating wing.
Musk also mulled possibility of the rocket thrusters helping the car getting some serious air. While that might be stretching it too far for us, we know there isn’t anything like that in his dictionary. Tesla has been going through trying times with the production of the Model 3 not going as planned but is expected to reach the target soon. Also with the Model Y SUV in the pipeline, the new Roadster has been slated for 2020. And we think that is enough time for the tech-maverick Elon Musk to figure out how those 10 rockets will blend into the car. Iron Man?
