Electric car maker Tesla has been developing the Model X for quite some time now. The company, best known for its electric luxury sedan called the Model S, has finally unveiled the Model X electric crossover.
The all-wheel-drive Model X is powered by Tesla's proven electric powertrain which allows it to accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 250kmph, all the while producing zero emissions.
Tesla says that the Model X's floor-mounted battery gives the vehicle a low centre of gravity and ideal weight distribution. Meanwhile, one of the design highlights is the Falcon Wings (gullwing-like doors) that allow easy access to second and third-row seats, claims Tesla.
Now that it’s being officially shown, Tesla will soon start selling the Model X. The brand, in fact, will begin delivering this new model starting late next year.
