Tesla’s most affordable model, the Model 3 has been awarded five-stars for safety by the Euro NCAP. The Tesla Model 3 has earned 96 per cent for adult protection and 86 per cent for child occupant. The vehicle has scored 74 per cent for how the vehicle handles vulnerable road users. Interestingly, the Model 3 has scored 94 per cent for safety assist, which is the highest safety assist score awarded by Euro NCAP under the newer 2018-2019 testing protocols.
Reports indicate that Tesla engineers have used the data collected from drivers and the sensor suit of every Tesla made since October 2016. Apart from Tesla Model 3, other cars that have earned a five-star rating are Audi e-tron, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen T-Cross, Mazda 3, Kia Ceed and the Lexus UX.
