Tesla has revealed more details for the upcoming Model 3 ahead of commencement of production in July 2018. The electric car will be first available in a Performance variant followed by a standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version later. Excluding the autopilot function, prices for the AWD variant starts at $54,000 (approx. Rs 36.40 lakhs), while the Performance variant starts at $78,000 (approx. Rs 52.58 lakhs).
The first to arrive, Tesla Performance variant is reportedly capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 3.5-seconds and is capable of attaining a top speed of 250kmph. It is believed that the car will have a driving range of about 500kms and will offer quick charging capabilities. Adding to its sporty element, the Performance variant will get sport level brakes and red caliper. The Standard AWD version on the other hand will be capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just about 4.5-seconds and attain a top speed of 235kmph. Like the Performance variant, the Standard AWD variant will also offer a driving range of 500kms.
Visually, the Performance version will get additional bit of exterior upgrades and white interior with white highlights on the dashboard. Moreover, it gets carbon fibre spoiler and 20-inch wheels as standard. Elon Musk, CEO, Tesla, has also promised to new version of its supercharging stations over next few months.
