Terra Motors is planning to open around 80 dealerships across India. This is the same company that launched the Kiwami – an electric super bike for Rs 18 lakh in India last year.
The company plans to expand to different states that will help them gain more sales and market share. While the electric vehicle market in India is still in the nascent stage, this Japanese company is investing Rs 31 crore in a new plant in Gurgaon, which will have a production capacity of 30,000 units in the first year. For now the company is only into electric scooters and rickshaws, it plans to foray into four-wheels in the next few years.
"As we are progressing and expanding our footprint in India, the new dealership will mark our entry into several states, which houses many industries. Therefore, we are confident that our electric rickshaws, known for their ruggedness, durability, battery efficiency and after service support will appeal to our customers," said Teppei Seki, country director, Terra Motors India.
