Prior to the launch of the highly anticipated all-new NSX, Acura has just dropped in new technical details relating to the hybrid sports car. The vehicle made its public debut in January this year, in Detroit.
The highlighting bit is the twin-turbocharged V6 engine that has been confirmed to be 3.5-litres. Acura has revealed that the NSX will mark the introduction of a highly capable all-wheel drive system and a new 9-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
While the all-aluminium monocoque shell of the original NSX was rather ahead of its time, the current aluminium and steel-intensive architecture has been taken to the limit for sports car design.
The original NSX was a mid-engined supercar sold between 1990 and 2005. While it had earned the reputation of being an ‘everyday supercar’, the host of technologies and performance that the new NSX packs might make it an even better all-rounder.
