The Tata Hexa was spotted testing in a camouflaged avatar several times in India. Now, the pictures of the undisguised SUV have been leaked online.
The Hexa is based on the Aria and the new pictures of the car reveal the features that the production version will get. Up front, there are the newly designed projector headlamps, a honeycomb grille and a new bumper with fog lamps. The honeycomb pattern mesh grille gets a horizontal chrome slat at the bottom, while the DRLs are placed horizontally over the fog lamp inserts.
The silhouette is similar to the Aria but gets side body cladding. The SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels that get a new five-spoke pattern. This design is retained from Tata's Aria-based Hexa SUV concept showcased earlier in Geneva. The rear boasts of restyled tail lamps equipped with LED units. The reflectors and parking sensors can be seen on the rear bumper sporting dual exhaust tips.
The Hexa will be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, VARICOR diesel unit that churns out 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will be available with a 4WD option.
After the Hexa concept’s debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors started testing the Hexa on public roads. The vehicle seems to be in the final stage of its testing and might be officially unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.
