Tata's next product launch for the Indian market might be the facelifted Nano. The company has vigorously started the testing of the vehicle and close on the heels of a test vehicle seen a few days earlier, another test mule of the car was spied testing in Maharashtra again.
The revised Tata Nano Twist will get subtle changes to its exterior and interior. A boot opening lid, smoked head lamp unit, chrome embellishments and new restyled bumpers at the front and back are amongst the revisions done to the car.
The cabin is revised and gets the new three-spoke steering wheel, wood finish on the centre console and some tweaks to the dashboard for a better feel. Tata Motors might introduce a new gear lever and different fabric for the seats.
The new Nano Twist Active is expected to be powered by the same 624cc twin-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 38bhp of power and 51Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a four-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels. We can expect the introduction of the AMT gearbox as well.
The Tata Nano launch might be followed by the introduction of the Kite sedan and hatchback for the Indian market. Let us hope the new Nano finds a good demand as the boot is now redesigned for more usable space and for added convenience, an openable boot lid.
