Tata Motors might stop production of the Tata Vista, Manza and Sumo Grande in the coming months. These age-old models might make way for the upcoming new models from the manufacturer.
The decision of the company to pull the plug off these models is triggered by the dismal sales of the vehicles in their respective segments. These vehicles were not the best looking cars amongst their competition, nor were they offered to create any excitement amongst buyers. Though they did pretty well in the taxi fleet, the sales numbers were never something that the company can boast about.
After the financial year in 2012, the sales figures of the cars came down drastically. Now, Tata Motors might stop production of the vehicles and clear the stock that is available at present. Nevertheless, the company has planned replacements of the vehicles which will also up the brand image of the company.
The Vista has been replaced by the new Bolt hatchback, and the Indigo Manza with the new Zest compact-sedan. The Sumo Grande, which is now sold as the Movus, might also be replaced soon. The company will bring in new products in place of these models. Apart from this, the manufacturer is working on two brand new models, the Kite hatchback and compact sedan, which are being developed and tested in India. We can expect these to be introduced by the end of this year or early 2016.
