Tata Motors has unveiled a special edition of the Nano for select cities as part of its efforts to boost sales during the holiday season. The special edition Nano will sport a host of cosmetic changes and is currently available only in West Bengal, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.
The extra features, worth Rs 25,000, include special edition stickers, body decal and custom alloy wheels on the outside. Tata have fitted two glove boxes in place of the standard parcel shelves, a car audio system with MP3 compatibility, USB port, AUX port and front speakers. These special features are available only on the CX and LX variants with no difference in price.
Sitting on the rear wheels is still the same 624cc 2-cylinder engine producing 37bhp and 51Nm of torque. It is likely that most of these special features will find permanent places as standard accessories on the future generations of the car.
