-Current XZ (O) model gets a 5.0-inch unit
-New screen appears to have a 6.5 inch display
-Expected to get new firmware
-Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support
A Tata Tigor test vehicle was spied with a bigger touchscreen system. The current car offers this system only in the top-of-the-line XZ (O) petrol and diesel variants. The current system available in the Tigor relies heavily on one’s smartphone to be utilised efficiently. We have looked at the Tigor’s touchscreen system in detail and you can read about that here in our five labours of the Tata Tigor.
This new screen appears to be around 6.5-inches wide, putting it on par with the display offered in cars like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10. This new update is expected to bring in Android Auto/ Apple Car Play.
There’s two possibilities with the new display. The first is that Tata will move the current system to the lower spec model of the Tigor and offer this on the XZ (O) variant only thus expanding the value proposition of the range overall. The other is that Tata will continue to offer the system only on the XZ (O) variant and phase out the 5.0-inch display for this larger one.
