- Sporty design highlights, stiffer suspension and lower ground clearance
Back at the 2018 Auto Expo event in India, Tata Motors had showcased the Tigor JTP with twin barrel exhaust as a concept. This time around, the Tigor JTP has been spotted on test with the same twin barrel exhaust which was seen earlier this year, thereby hinting at its possible launch sometime soon. The vehicle has been spotted testing for the second time in Coimbatore and is jointly built with the locally-based Jayem Automotives.
The Tigor JTP gets a sporty body kit which includes – smoked-finish headlamps, a matte grille, new alloy wheels, side skirts and a sporty rear bumper with an integrated spoiler. Additionally, it also gets red mirror covers, red brake callipers and off-centre air scoop on the hood. Focused for better performance, the Tigor JTP will also offer stiffer suspension and a lower ground clearance. The test mule has been spotted with parking sensors at the rear.
Under the hood, the Tata Tigor JTP will be powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 108bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. The engine borrowed from the Nexon will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Although the pricing aspect remains unknown for now, we believe that the new model might cost a lakh more than the current model. The company has also been working on the Tiago JTP for a while now.
