-Performance version of the compact sedan
- Likely to get 1.2-litre turbocharged motor from the Nexon
--Sporty body bits, badging and wheels
-Will be joined by the Tiago JTP
A sporty version of the Tata Tigor compact sedan has been spotted doing the rounds in Coimbatore. It is expected to be called the Tigor JTP and the fact that it is testing in Coimbatore where Jayem Automotive is based (hence JTP) reiterates that this will be a hot sedan.
The car was showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2018 and gets bigger wheels, sporty bumpers, JTP badging. What´s more is that as a part of the design package, all the chrome accents of the standard car have been blacked out for this JTP model.
However, the biggest change to this car is likely to be the 1.2-litre engine borrowed from the Nexon which produces 108bhp/170Nm with a six-speed manual. By the look of things, this should be more than sufficient to give the car a sporty tag.
Given that Jayem Automotive is tuning the car, we expect that they will improve the handling qualities of the car too. The interiors are standard fare but with some coloured accents to boost the overall looks of the vehicle.
This car will be joined by the Tiago JTP which also gets a similar performance tune up and body kit. We expect that Tata will price this Tigor JTP not much higher than the top of the line XZ+ petrol model that is currently on sale.
