To the delight of many auto enthusiasts in the country, Tata Motors has introduced the Tigor JTP and the Tiago JTP in India. The vehicle has been developed under a partnership with Tata Motors and a Coimbatore based company named Jayem Automotives. The Tigor JTP and the Tiago JTP will have dedicated space and staff at the existing Tata Motors showroom in the country. The staff will also be trained to address particular demands.
What’s good about it?
The cars are powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that generates 112bhp of power at 5000rpm and 150Nm of torque between 2000-4000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Along with better performance figures, the cars also get sporty exterior and interior highlights, 15-inch diamond cut dual tone wider 6.5J alloy wheels, tweaked suspension setup and calibrated electric power-assisted steering with active return for superior control.
What’s not so good?
Although the cars are available for acceptable premium pricing of around a lakh more than the standard top-spec models, an automatic option and more than just two standard airbags would have further increased the safety quotient.
Best variant to buy?
The Tigor JTP and the Tiago JTP are available as top spec feature loaded variants. For those looking out for a performance-driven version of the Tigor and the Tiago, the JTP tuned cars are the answer.
