- Tigor EV is now priced between Rs 11.58-11.92 lakhs
- The model can be purchased only by government officials and commercial fleet operators
Tata Motors has revised the prices of the Tigor EV. The Indian automobile manufacturer has reduced the prices of the electric variant of the Tigor after the recent revision of the GST rates for electric vehicles.
Previously, Electric Vehicles (EVs) were charged 12 per-cent GST. Now, it has been reduced to just 5 per-cent. This has resulted in a price cut of Rs 80,000 for the Tigor Electric. The model has now been priced from Rs 11.58 lakhs to Rs 11.92 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The Tigor EV is currently available for purchase only for government officials and commercial fleet operators.
Speaking on the occasion, Shailesh Chandra, President, Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors, said, "In light of the recent announcement made by the government to slash the GST rates of all electric-powered vehicles from 12 per-cent to 5 per-cent the price of Tata Motors' EVs, will be reduced by up to Rs 80,000 starting August 2019. The price reduction will be valid across all the variants of Tigor EV - XE (Base), XM (Premium) and XT (High). The Tigor EV which was earlier priced between Rs 12.35-12.71 lakhs (ESP Mumbai) and will now be available to customers at a starting price of Rs 11.58-11.92 lakh. However, these prices do not include the FAME subsidy and TCS.”
