The Tata Tiago has been spotted at dealerships in Goa and Delhi ahead of its probable launch at the end of this month. The car, at both the showrooms, was in the signature orange shade and in the case of the vehicle spotted in Goa- a petrol variant. Bookings for the vehicle have already begun with the token amount set at Rs 10, 000.
The new entry-level hatchback from the Indian automaker replaces the Indica in its passenger vehicle lineup. It will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The former is a 1.2-litre unit while the latter is a 1.0-litre unit. Both are currently only being offered with a five-speed manual though an AMT is expected at a later date.
The car is the first vehicle to get Tata’s new impact design philosophy and will also spawn a compact sedan (codenamed Kite 5) which is expected to be launched later this year. It will be feature loaded with things like the touchscreen infotainment system, ABS, dual airbags and electrically adjustable mirrors.
It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 3.90 lakh to Rs 4.50 lakh and will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and the Hyundai Eon.
