Fresh images of the Tata Tiago petrol AMT has surfaced, thereby indicating its possible launch sometime soon. The introduction of an AMT variant will further boost the Tiago sales in the country, which once came only in manual transmission with diesel and petrol engines.
Tata Motors made a note of the Nano’s success with AMT in petrol and it was only a matter of time before it was introduced in the Tiago. Based on anticipation, we believe that the petrol AMT Tiago might be launched in next few months. The new AMT transmission will come mated to the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine which generates 84bhp of power and 115Nm of torque.
Given the constant rise in demand from customers for cars with AMT options, due to their convenience factor, the new Tiago petrol AMT variant is expected to perform well post launch. Though the test mule has been heavily camouflaged, we do not expect to see major design upgrades other than new badging at the rear. It could be offered as an option on the top-end variant. Additional details about the car will be known in the coming days.
