The sportier version of the Tata Tiago, called the Tiago JTP was last seen at the 2018 Auto Expo event. Last year, Tata Motors had announced their partnership with a Coimbatore based company named Jayem Automotives. The upcoming sporty hatchback will be the first product under the collaboration which is developed by JT Special Vehicles. Along with tweaked styling elements, the car also gets an upgraded suspension system and claims to offer more power.
As seen at the Auto Expo event, the Tiago JTP gets a revised front end in the form of sportier bumpers with larger air intakes, new fog lamp housing, blacked out headlamps and a JTP badged grille. The car sits on 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with side skirts and contrasting ORVMs. Similar upgrades were also seen on the Tigor JTP which was also showcased at the Auto Expo event. In addition to these, the Tiago JTP gets a diffuser at the rear with a roof spoiler.
To distinguish it from a regular version, the car gets leather upholstered seats, aluminum pedals, eight-inch Harman Kardon audio system and more. Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine that generates 108bhp of power and 150Nm of torque, thereby making it quite powerful as compared to the standard model which produces 84bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, which the company claims comes with optimised gear ratios.
