Tata Motors has announced a 30 per cent increase in the domestic sales in June 2015. The company sold 10,281 vehicles last month in comparison to the 7,911 units sold in June 2014.
The growth is driven by the recently launched models the Zest, Bolt and the GenX Nano. The sales of the hatchbacks and sedans jumped 44 per cent to 8,516 units from 5,933 in the same month last year. However the UVs continue to be a hurdle, with sales down by 11 per cent to 1,765 units.
It is also heartening to see that the company has shown consistent growth in the last few months. The cumulative passenger vehicle sales for the first quarter of 2015-16 have increased by 29 per cent to 31,649 units. The company also exported 5,047 vehicles in June 2015 as against 3,814 vehicles sold overseas in the same month last year.
Tata Motors have tasted a fair bit of success not just in terms of sales, but also in revamping their brand image in the Indian market. This trend might further strengthen with the launch of more products under Horizonext.
