Yet another set of spy pictures showing the new Tata Safari Storme have appeared on the web. Like before, the SUV has been spotted without camouflage although the lack of exterior updates hardly needs any protective covering from prying eyes if you ask us.
As seen in these new spy shots, the exterior remains identical to the current model except for the new Land Rover-inspired grille at the front. However, the cabin is expected to benefit from several design changes and overall quality upgrades. The most speculated upgrades to the cabin include an all-new colour tone for the dashboard and different layout for certain controls. The new Safari Storme is also expected to don front facing captain seats in the third row instead of the present side-facing seats.
The Safari is currently powered by the 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power. The engine is likely to be upgraded to 150bhp of power and 320Nm, like in the new Aria. The motor will continue to be mated to the existing 5-speed manual transmission while there is a possibility that Tata might equip it with an automatic unit.
The facelifted Safari Storme is expected to go on sale sometime during the middle of 2015. When launched, it will go up against the latest generation Mahindra Scorpio.
