A facelifted version of the Tata Safari Storme has been spied testing in a disguised avatar again. The vehicle which had previously being spotted testing in Ooty will get a few changes to the exteriors and interiors as well.
It is the first time the Safari Storme will get these changes after it was launched in the Indian market in 2012. The changes include a new honeycomb mesh grille and redesigned bumper at the front. There seem to be no revisions to the silhoutte of the car while the rear bumper might get a collapsible step. It would be a good change if the tailgate hinges might be hidden which are visible in the current model.
The most speculated changes to interiors include front facing captain seats in the third row instead of the present side facing seats. The upholstery might be revised and a redesigned central console with a neatly integrated music system might be thrown in along with some more new features.
The current models of the Tata Safari Storme are powered by the 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power. The power output of this mill might be increased to 150bhp of power and 320Nm of torque like the Tata Aria. The motor will continue to be mated to the existing five-speed manual transmission while there is a possibility that Tata might equip it with an automatic transmission.
Tata may launch this refreshed Safari Storme with minor changes for this festive season. It will go up against the upcoming 2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift.
